Synology Beestation could replace your WD Mycloud

Synology's timing with the introduction of the Synology Beestation couldn't be more perfect, especially with the discontinuation of the WD My Cloud. It offers a simple, secure, and affordable alternative to the WD My Cloud.

The Synology Beestation is the first Synology NAS prepopulated with a 4TB Drive, making it the easiest to set up so far. Unlike the DS923+, the Beestation doesn't require hard drive installation, making setup much simpler.

While the Beestation has a slimmed-down version of Synology DSM with limited functionality compared to other Synology models (no app store), it still offers more features than the WD My Cloud. These include super simple setup, robust encryption for data security, and seamless integration with popular cloud services like Google Drive and OneDrive.

Currently available only in a 4TB single-drive configuration, RAID is not possible. Retailing at AED 900 in Dubai, the Beestation competes not with larger NAS units, but with simpler, cheaper NAS options like the WD My Cloud.
